Hiring requirements for U.A.E

Working in the UAE on a tourist visa is illegal. If you find employment while on a tourist visa, you must change your visa status to a work visa and obtain a UAE work permit before starting your job.

Basic Criteria for the Employee

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • The license of the company hiring you has to be valid.
  • The company must not have any violations.
  • The work you do must correspond to the nature of the company hiring you.
  • There is no maximum age for who can be employed in the UAE, but for workers over the age of 65, the company pays a higher fee.

Supporting Documents

When applying for a UAE work visa, you will need to provide the following supporting documents.
  • Your original passport and a copies attested by at-least Grade 17 officer.
  • A passport-size photo that meets UAE specifications
  • Copies of your academic qualifications, which must be authenticated by both the UAE Embassy or consulate in your country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your country
  • A medical certificate issued by a government-approved health center, such as GAMCA
  • Acceptance documents from your employer, including the company's commercial license or company card
The UAE provides a standard work visa, usually valid for two to three years. To obtain this visa, a foreign national must have a job offer from a local employer, receive approval from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), and secure an entry permit.
